Discover Your CliftonStrengths
Find the five ways you naturally do your best work, and put them to use in the second half.
What it is
CliftonStrengths is an online assessment from Gallup that identifies your natural patterns of thinking, feeling and acting, and ranks them across 34 "themes." It grew out of one question psychologist Don Clifton asked decades ago:
"What would happen if we studied what is right with people versus what's wrong with people?"

Gallup draws a careful line between a talent and a strength. A talent is the way you are naturally wired. It becomes a strength when you invest in it with practice, skill and knowledge.
Talent × Investment = Strength
Think of your talents as raw ore. Most men spent their careers mining whatever ore the job required. This season is a chance to work the vein you were actually given.
Why do it now
- Your strengths outlast your job title. Retirement takes away the role but not the wiring. Knowing your themes tells you what you bring to the next chapter.
- It gives you words for what you already sense. Many men discover why some tasks always energized them and others always drained them.
- The research is strong. Gallup reports that people who use their strengths every day are three times more likely to report an excellent quality of life and six times more likely to be engaged in their work (Gallup).
- It points your mission. The Harvest Charter asks where you will invest your second half. Your top themes are strong clues about how you will serve best.
- It helps the men around you. Sharing your Top 5 in your triad gives others a fast, generous read on how you work and how to encourage you.
"We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us" (Romans 12:6). CliftonStrengths is one practical way to name those gifts.

- Answer as you are, not as you wish you were or as your old job required.
- When neither statement fits perfectly, pick the one that fits a little better.
- Download or print your report, and bring your Top 5 to our next session.
